ABOUT US Daniel's family has been involved in the catering industry in Italy and Britain for many years including La Capanna in Livingston. Daniel and Jessie started Vittorio's in 2006 as a delivery only service and expanded in 2008 to take over the larger premises in Pumpherston from Daniel's father. We have excellent staff and are like one big happy family. Our menu has been tailored to suit al tastes, as well as the traditional fish and chip shop fare, we do a huge range of Pizza, Pasta, Vegetarian dishes, Steaks, Poultry, Deluxe Hamburgers, Kebabs, Baked Potatoes, Omelettes, Curries, Salads, Deserts or more. - All to take away or be delivered.
Before opening our first takeaway Daniel took Jessie to Italy to show her what Italian's do eat and she was surprised to find that some things on our menu here in Scotland that you just don't see in Italy
The funny thing is our best pasta seller is Pasta Carbonara - and our biggest pizza seller is Ham and Pineapple! We sell a lot more cream based sauces than tomato based and loads more garlic pizza than garlic breads. At the end of the day as long as our Scottish customers are happy we are too and no matter what we make we still put the same passion and energy into it!! A typical day in Vittorio's is an extremely busy affair as everyone who eats there can see. It never stops! We make everything from scratch on the premises Pizza dough and sauce Bolognese, pomodoro sauce, béchamel, lasagne, salads - coleslaw, minestrone. chicken kebabs, Lamb Kebabs and Shish kebabs. We prepare the steaks and chickens, and prep for pizza - all the vegetables etc have to be chopped by hand. One of the biggest and most time consuming jobs is actually preparing the vegetates, it just takes so long to wash, dry and chop it all up. We refuse to use pre-packed lettuce or vegetables!! On top of all that we have to peel and chop potatoes, make all the food to order, clean, arrange orders or the next day. We buy all our desserts in from Crollas of Glasgow, as we just don't have time to do our own. These days we actually get very little time to try anything new as it is so busy. One day we would love to open a Restaurant in Livingston - it would be a bit different focusing more on casual dining family orientated, and maybe a wine bar incorporated!! It's all been put on hold for the moment while we bring up our two lovely daughters!!! We've adopted the Italian approach to life - good food, good family and good times!!!
